Cartography

Cartography is part of the class skill set of a Ranger.

With this skill, you can decipher maps and discover hidden treasure chests.

Rare items can be found in the treasure chests quite often.

You must have Cartography Pen and Ink for this skill, which can be bought from a merchant NPC.

Skill’s efficiency

The skill is used to open encrypted scrolls with hidden treasures.

There are 6 levels of hidden treasures. When deciphering the map, a map with an image of the location of the treasure and its coordinates will be added to the backpack.

Treasures from levels 1 to 5 have protection, the complexity of which depends on the level of the treasure. E.g. the 1st level of the treasure has very weak protection compared to the 5th level. All chests of the indicated levels are located at the following coordinates:

  • X = 999, Y = 2011.
  • X = 612, Y = 1756.
  • X = 865, Y = 1534.
  • X = 693, Y = 643.
  • X = 1337, Y = 638.
  • X = 1850, Y = 839.
  • X = 1897, Y = 212.
  • X = 2261, Y = 944.
  • X = 2087, Y = 1282.
  • X = 1257, Y = 2999.
  • X = 1663, Y = 2025.
  • X = 1811, Y = 2555.
  • X = 1914, Y = 3108.
  • X = 2160, Y= 3620.
  • X = 4489, Y = 3535.

Treasure chests 6 level:

The chance of dropping rare items depends on the level of the treasure, for example, this chance is almost 3 times different between treasures of level 5 and 6.

  • X = 5456, Y = 1803.
  • X = 5151, Y = 743.
  • X = 5308, Y = 824.
  • X = 6055, Y = 158.
  • X = 5428, Y = 212.
  • X = 5693, Y = 1374.
  • X = 5828, Y = 360.

Шанс выпадения редких предметов зависит от уровня клада, например этот шанс различен практически в 3 раза между кладом 5 уровня и 6.

Ways of leveling your skill

You must have Blank Maps to train your skill. You can buy them from a map merchant NPC or craft them from logs with the Tinkering skill.

The difficulty of opening or drawing maps decreases depending on the character’s level.

To open treasures, you need to purchase the Treasure digging tool item, which can be used to dig up a treasure. It is sold by a map merchant.
