Carpentry

Carpentry is one of the Crafter’s skills that lets you create shields and decorative items.

The skill is difficult to train because it requires lots of different resources.

How to use the skill

Check out the list of the requirements to use the skill bellow.

1. Carpentry skill level is >0.
You may choose the skill when creating a character or learn from any NPC who can craft. Type the “vendor train” command in the chat.

2. You must have any crafting tool e.g. a saw, planer, etc.
You can buy them from a vendor or craft them yourself with the Tinkering skill. Read more in the article about Tinkering.

3. You must have resources e.g. Ingots, Logs, Cloth, etc.
Iron can be dug with the Mining skill. Logs can be obtained with the Lumberjacking skill. You can buy cloths from merchants. Read more information about ores in a Wiki article.

How to use your skill:

As mentioned above, this skill may be used with three types of materials used: wood, ore, and cloth.

Wood:

Use the tool on any type of log to open the item crafting menu. The crafting of the following items will use the Carpentry skill.

Iron:

Items assemble:

Some items can be crafted to assemble other items, such as Barrel or Keg. A barrel is used as storage. A Keg is a sealed barrel designed to collect liquid from magical potions. The keg will not work without a “Barrel Tap”, crafted from iron with Tinkering skill – Parts.

Skill and item specifics

Items’ quality may change when crafted. You will receive a message in this case. The name of the item will be changed to Exceptional or Perfect.
Use the free Perk function to see detailed information. Help menu – Perks – Medium.

Item reparation: When a tool is used on a wooden item, it can be fixed.
During the reparation the type of logs that were used during the craft will be spent.

Shields have different properties, which are both positive and negative.

Armor increases your physical protection and keeps you from specific damage.

Logs have their own elemental protection, a certain amount of which is transferred to the item being created. The amount of Elemental protection mostly depends on the item itself.

Ways of leveling your skill

Learn the skill with the “Vendor Train” command or left-click on an NPC to select skill training.

You can always recycle your items into ore with a Chisel. Use a Chisel on a Wood Worker Table and on the item you want to disassemble.

Use the cheapest materials for as long as possible to save resources.
